Last week was such a wonderful, inspiring, and heart felt week.  I partnered with Habitat for Humanity and Chico’s FAS for the #HomeIsTheKey campaign.  It was such an honor to be on site with so many amazing people…those who have invested their time and resources for two lovely ladies, Amanda and Ashlee, (the new homeowners)!

It has ben a while since I have participated in a Habitat for Humanity build and after learning so much more last week and being onsite helping, it has renewed my desire to become more involved.

Amanda and Ashlee are two very strong and committed women who are dedicated to providing the best life possible to their beautiful children.  Their new homes are a fresh start and I know they will enjoy settling and establishing roots.  Their children are just the sweetest and they seemed so happy as well…they are especially excited to decorate their new room!  As Amanda and Ashlee cut the ribbon for their new home, I’m pretty certain most everyone got teary eyed.  You can just tell how happy everyone is in these images.

I admire Habitat for Humanity even more after learning what all of their homeowners go through to get the keys to their new home.  Amanda and Ashlee started this process by submitting a 20 page application.  Once selected, they then go through a variety of courses and trainings as well as many hours of sweat equity volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.  Habitat homes are not gifted to these families, they do pay a mortgage but it is a mortgage that fits well within their budget.  Habitat for Humanity provided the resources and support so Amanda and Ashlee can be set up for success.

Chico’s FAS was such an important partner with these builds.  The team from headquarters flew in and so many associates from Chico’s, White House Black Market, and Soma Intimates participated in the final build days as well.  It was so inspiring to see so many women come together to add the final touches to Amanda and Ashlee’s new homes.

The Property Brothers were also on site…they have been involved since the build kicked of on 4/2/18 and they have really gotten to know Amanda, Ashlee, and their families.  They built a bond so it was so special to see them help Amanda and Ashlee dedicate their homes and cut the ribbon!

What an amazing experience it was…one that will never forget!

If you want to get involved with this campaign you can donate at any Chico’s, Soma Intimates, or White House Black market store.  Donations will be accepted through the end of May.  I encourage you to get involved too!  Every little bit makes a difference!

I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire Habitat for Humanity & Chico’s FAS teams for inviting me to join you for this campaign.  Thank you White House Black Market for providing my outfits as well as Soma Intimates for providing some new pieces as well.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
